Martyrs Montanus and Maxima, a married couple, lived in the 3rd century. During the persecution of Christians under Emperor Valerian, they were arrested. Despite threats of torture, Montanus and Maxima remained steadfast in their faith. They were brought before the proconsul, and when they refused to renounce Christ, they were brutally tortured. Their faith remained unbroken. Finally, they were beheaded. Their unwavering devotion to Christ inspired many.

O Holy Martyrs Montanus and Maxima, intercede for us, that we may also remain firm in our faith! Pray for us to God, that He may work through us! Amen.
