John, a merchant from Trebizond, was arrested in Belgorod for refusing to renounce Christ. Despite torture, he remained steadfast. The judge, seeing his resolve, offered him wealth and honor to convert to Islam. John refused, proclaiming his faith. Enraged, the judge ordered his execution. He was dragged through the city and beheaded, his body later recovered and enshrined in Suceava.
