Andrew the First-Called, brother of Peter, was the first apostle to follow Jesus. Tradition holds he preached the Gospel in lands around the Black Sea, including present-day Romania. Legend says he brought Christianity to the area, planting the seeds of faith that blossomed centuries later. He faced martyrdom in Patras, Greece, crucified on an X-shaped cross. His unwavering dedication to spreading Christ's word made him a beacon of early Christian mission.
