Venerable John lived in the 15th century. A Wallachian, he was captured by Tatars during an invasion. Refusing to renounce his Christian faith for Islam, he was brutally tortured and eventually beheaded. His body, thrown into the Maros River, was miraculously recovered, incorrupt, and radiating light. The relics were later enshrined at Prislop Monastery, becoming a source of healing and miracles for pilgrims.
