On this day, we honor the Holy #Brâncoveni Martyrs: Constantin, with his sons Stephen, Radu, and Mathew. In 1714, Prince Constantin of Wallachia and his sons were captured by the Ottomans. Offered life in exchange for converting to Islam, Constantin refused, as did his sons. They were beheaded on August 15, the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos. Their steadfast faith shines as a beacon against worldly temptation.
