Venerable Visarion, born in 1906, stood firm against communist oppression. As an abbot, he refused to close his monastery, harboring persecuted monks and nuns. Arrested in 1952, he endured torture and imprisonment for his faith. Even in confinement, his spirit remained unbroken, offering solace and spiritual guidance to fellow prisoners. He died in 1964 from the mistreatment he suffered.
