Venerable John Iacob the Romanian, after a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, entered the Romanian Skete of St. John the Baptist near the River Jordan. Later, he lived as a hermit in the wilderness. Known for his deep prayer and love for Romanian poetry, he reposed in the Lord in 1960, his relics discovered incorrupt.
