The angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, a virgin betrothed to Joseph, announcing she would conceive and bear a son, Jesus, through the Holy Spirit. Though perplexed, Mary humbly accepted, declaring herself the Lord’s servant. This acceptance, her "yes," paved the way for the Incarnation, God becoming man. She bore Jesus in Bethlehem and raised him in Nazareth. Her unwavering faith and obedience to God's will make her the archetype of Christian discipleship. Mother of God, pray for us!
