Saint Priest Martyr Alexandru of Basarabia stood firm in his faith when the Soviets occupied Bessarabia. He openly criticized the atheistic regime and offered spiritual support to his flock, encouraging them to remain steadfast in their beliefs. In 1941, he was arrested and subjected to brutal torture for refusing to renounce his priesthood and denounce the Church. He endured immense suffering with unwavering faith, ultimately being martyred for his devotion to God.
