Niphon, a monk from Mount Athos, reluctantly accepted the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Known for his ascetic life and strong moral compass, he fearlessly rebuked Emperor Alexander for his immoral behavior. This act of courage led to Niphon's exile. He later became Metropolitan of Țara Românească, where he reformed the church and promoted education. His life exemplified unwavering faith and integrity.

Lord, guide our leaders with Niphon's courage.
