Venerable George, born in Moldavia, felt a burning desire for monastic life early on. Despite his parents' wishes for him to marry, George secretly left home and joined Cernica Monastery. There, he excelled in obedience and humility, becoming a model for other monks. Later, he co-founded the Caldarusani Monastery, revitalizing monasticism in the region. Known for his strict asceticism, wisdom, and gift of discernment, he guided countless souls to Christ.
