Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were discovered as Christians during a persecution. Ermil boldly confessed his faith before the emperor, enduring severe beatings. Stratonic, secretly a Christian, wept openly seeing Ermil's suffering. Accused of being a Christian, Stratonic then confessed Christ himself. After failing to dissuade them, they were bound, cast into the Danube, and drowned for their unwavering faith.

Let us pray to these courageous martyrs to intercede for us, that we may stand firm in our faith.
