Venerable Nicodim of Tismana, a 14th-century Romanian monk, rebuilt the Tismana Monastery and established monastic life there. He was known for his asceticism, humility, and dedication to prayer and the spiritual well-being of his community. Legend tells of him, while praying, being miraculously transported to Mount Athos to receive guidance.
