Martyr John the Valah, a Romanian youth, was captured by Tatars and sold to a Muslim master who tried to convert him. Despite torture and threats, John refused to renounce Christ. He confessed his faith openly, declaring Christ as his true God. Enraged, his master had him beheaded. Christians secretly buried him, and his relics later brought healing and miracles.
