During the persecution of Christians in Transylvania, Venerable Visarion the Confessor, a Romanian Orthodox monk, fearlessly preached the Gospel and encouraged his flock to remain steadfast in their faith. He was arrested and subjected to brutal torture for refusing to renounce Orthodoxy and convert to Catholicism under pressure from the Habsburg authorities. Despite the horrific suffering, Visarion remained unwavering in his beliefs, offering comfort and support to his fellow prisoners. He ultimately died in prison, a martyr for his faith.
