Hermes, a former soldier, was converted by a Christian. Denounced for his faith, he confessed Christ before the Emperor, who ordered him tortured. Despite horrific torments, Hermes remained steadfast, even healing a possessed man through prayer. Astonished, the Emperor offered him riches and honor to renounce Christ, but Hermes refused. He was beheaded for his unwavering faith.
