Born in Moldavia, he wandered to Mount Athos. He was tonsured a monk with the name Antipas. Returning to Moldavia, he sought a solitary place, but his abbot sent him to Valaam Monastery in Russia. Later, he lived in Romanian sketes at Athos and finally settled at Calapodeşti Monastery, becoming its abbot. He was known for his humility and spiritual guidance, attracting many seeking his counsel. He reposed in peace, revered for his monastic virtues.
