Saint Gherasim of Tismana, a Romanian #OrthodoxChristian monk, faced trials for his faith. He lived a life of asceticism, and was known for his unwavering devotion. He restored the Tismana Monastery, a beacon of spirituality. During Turkish incursions, he was captured and martyred for refusing to renounce Christ. His relics are venerated for their miracles.
