Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred for their faith in Singidunum (modern Belgrade). Ermil openly confessed his belief in Christ and was tortured. Stratonic, secretly a Christian, wept openly at Ermil's suffering, revealing his faith. Both were condemned; Stratonic was drowned in the Danube, and Ermil was beheaded.
