In the Roman fortress of Durostorum, now Silistra, Bulgaria, during Emperor Aurelian's reign, Lup, a devoted servant of Saint Demetrios, witnessed his master's martyrdom. Inspired by Demetrios's courage, Lup took Demetrios' ring, dipped it in his blood, and used it to heal the sick and perform miracles, driving out demons in the name of Christ. His actions angered the pagans, who arrested him and demanded he renounce his faith. Lup refused, enduring torture with unwavering faith, and was ultimately beheaded.
