Venerable Nicodim of Tismana, a beacon of monasticism in 14th-century Romania, arrived from the Holy Mountain, bringing with him the light of Hesychasm. He established the Tismana Monastery, a fortress of faith amidst trials. Legend says, while building the church, water was scarce. Striking the ground in prayer, Nicodim brought forth a spring, quenching the thirst of his brethren and blessing the land. May his prayers guide us to find living water in our own deserts.
