A young virgin, Mary, living in Nazareth, received a visit from the Archangel Gabriel. He announced that she would conceive a son through the Holy Spirit, and he would be called Jesus, the Son of the Most High. Despite her virginity, she humbly accepted God's will, saying, "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." She conceived and gave birth to Jesus in Bethlehem.
