Venerable Anthony of Iezeru, in the 17th century, lived as a hermit in a cave near the Iezeru Monastery in Romania. He dedicated himself to prayer and fasting, seeking union with God. Skilled in calligraphy, he transcribed religious texts and adorned them with intricate drawings, illuminating the Word for others. He reposed in the same cave he lived in.
