Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were imprisoned for their faith. During torture, Stratonic, witnessing Ermil's unwavering courage, confessed his own belief. They were subjected to terrible suffering, including being tied together and thrown into the Danube River. Despite the pain, they praised God until they drowned. Their martyrdom inspired many.
