Hieromartyr Irineu, Bishop of Sirmium, steadfast in faith during Emperor Maximian's persecutions. When commanded to offer sacrifices to idols, he refused, confessing Christ. Thrown into prison, he converted many. Presented again to the idols, he overturned them with prayer. After torture, he was cast into the Sava River and beheaded.
