During a time of persecution, Saint Sava Brancovici, Metropolitan of Transylvania, fearlessly defended the Orthodox faith against the pressures of the Habsburg Empire. He established printing presses to disseminate Orthodox texts and fiercely protected his flock from forced conversions. He was exiled for his faith and died far from his people.
