Donat, a bishop, and Venust, a monk, were arrested during Emperor Julian the Apostate's reign. Offered freedom if they renounced Christ, they refused, proclaiming their unwavering faith. They were tortured and ultimately beheaded around 362 AD, becoming martyrs for their steadfast devotion.
