Martyr Sava of Buzău, a Goth, lived when the Goths persecuted Christians. Ordered to eat pagan sacrificial meat, Sava refused, confessing Christ. He encouraged others to remain steadfast. The judge, realizing Sava's influence, sought to intimidate him with threats of torture. Sava, unafraid, yearned for Heaven. Angered, the judge ordered Sava drowned in the river Buzău. Sava embraced martyrdom, praying for his flock, and was cast into the icy waters, gaining a martyr’s crown.
