On a cold Bucharest night in 1909, Ilie Lăcătușu was born. From a young age, he felt drawn to God, serving as an altar boy. He later married and became a priest. During the communist regime, he secretly ministered to the faithful, facing constant danger. Arrested and tortured, he never renounced his faith. After his death in 1978, his relics were discovered to be incorrupt, a sign of his holiness. He was canonized in 2002.
