Venerable John lived in the 15th century. A wealthy merchant, he was slain by Tatars for his faith. Before death, he was tortured. Refusing to renounce Christ, he was beheaded. His body was later found incorrupt, emitting a sweet fragrance. Many miracles have been attributed to his relics, especially healings.
