A simple peasant, Dimitrie lived a life of humility and prayer in Basarabi, Romania. After his death, during a drought, his relics were discovered incorrupt near the village. Miracles began to occur, bringing rain and relief to the parched land. His relics were later moved to Bucharest, where they continue to be venerated, offering comfort and healing to those who seek his intercession.
