Joseph the Confessor, Bishop of Maramureș, stood firm against the communist regime in Romania. Arrested in 1959 for his unwavering faith and refusal to compromise the teachings of the #Church, he endured years of imprisonment and torture. Despite immense pressure, he never renounced his belief in #God and continued to secretly minister to his fellow prisoners, offering them solace and spiritual guidance. Released in 1964, he lived under constant surveillance but remained a beacon of hope and resistance until his death.
