Saint Calistrat, a monk from Timișeni, felt a deep calling to greater solitude. He sought the blessing of his abbot, who, recognizing Calistrat's spiritual fire, granted it. He found his way to Vasiova, carving a cell into the wilderness. There, he wrestled with demons in prayer and fasting. Locals, drawn by his holiness, sought his guidance. He healed the sick, comforted the grieving, and turned many hearts toward God. Pray that Saint Calistrat intercedes for us, igniting within us a similar zeal for God, and granting us strength against worldly temptations.
