Venerable Gregory traveled far, preaching against the iconoclasts. Once, a sorcerer, enraged by Gregory's success in converting people, offered him poisoned bread. Gregory, knowing the man's malice through divine revelation, made the sign of the cross over the bread and ate it without harm. The sorcerer, witnessing this miracle, was converted on the spot.
