In 1949, Father Visarion, alongside seven other monks from Lainici Monastery, was arrested by the communist regime for resisting the secularization of monastic lands. Subjected to brutal interrogation and torture, he never renounced his faith or betrayed his fellow brothers. He endured beatings, starvation, and psychological torment, remaining steadfast in his devotion to God. He died in the prison of Aiud, a martyr for his unwavering belief.
