On May 9, 1764, Martyr Oprea of Săliştea defended his Orthodox faith against forced conversion to Catholicism. Refusing to renounce his beliefs, he was brutally tortured and murdered by Hungarian Hussars in the village of Săliştea, Transylvania. Oprea's steadfast devotion became a symbol of resistance, inspiring others to remain true to their ancestral faith despite persecution.

Holy Martyr Oprea, intercede with Christ our God that we may also stand firm in our #OrthodoxChristian #Faith and witness to His truth in all we do. #Saints #Martyr #Prayer #Transylvania
