On August 15, 1714, Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu of Wallachia and his four sons—Constantin, Ștefan, Radu, and Matei—were martyred in Constantinople. Offered the chance to save their lives by converting to Islam, they refused, choosing death for their Christian faith. Constantin, the father, encouraged his sons to remain steadfast, and all five were beheaded. Their unwavering devotion made them symbols of Christian resistance and faith.
