Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a prison guard, were martyred in Singidunum (Belgrade) during Licinius' reign. Ermil was tortured for his faith, while Stratonic, secretly a Christian, wept openly at Ermil's suffering, revealing his belief. Both were condemned. Stratonic was drowned in the Danube after witnessing Ermil's beheading.
