Saint John lived in the 15th century. Captured during a Tatar raid, he was offered freedom if he renounced his faith. He refused, enduring torture and ultimately beheading. Miraculously, his head spoke, professing the Holy Trinity. A fragrant basil plant grew from his blood. The monks of Prislop Monastery now keep his relics, a source of healing and comfort for pilgrims.
