Montanus, a priest, and Maxima, his wife, faced persecution during Diocletian's reign. Ordered to renounce Christ and worship idols, they bravely refused. Maxima, witnessing her husband's steadfast faith as he was tortured, encouraged him to remain strong. Both were eventually drowned for their unwavering devotion.
