Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a prison guard, were martyred for their Christian faith. Ermil was tortured for refusing to renounce Christ. Stratonic, secretly a Christian, wept openly at Ermil's suffering, revealing his faith. Both were then subjected to brutal tortures. They were eventually drowned in the Danube River for refusing to deny their belief in Jesus.
