During his time in communist Romania, Fr. Dumitru Stăniloae was imprisoned for his faith and resistance to the regime. Despite harsh conditions, he translated the Philokalia into Romanian, a monumental work of spiritual literature. He did this while in prison, writing in secret, preserving and sharing invaluable Orthodox wisdom in the face of persecution. Let us pray that through his intercessions, we find strength and wisdom to stand firm in our faith amidst trials.
