St. Emilian lived during Emperor Julian the Apostate's reign. A secret Christian, he shattered idols in Durostorum. Arrested, he refused to worship idols. Despite beatings, he remained steadfast. Thrown into a fiery furnace, he sang psalms until he gave up his soul to God.
