Saint Priest Martyr Alexandru of Basarabia, a beacon of faith during tumultuous times, stood firm against Soviet oppression. In 1918, he passionately advocated for Bessarabia's union with Romania, earning the ire of the communist regime. He was arrested, tortured, and ultimately martyred in 1937 for his unwavering commitment to his people and his belief in God. His last act was blessing his torturers.
