In 1714, Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu of Wallachia and his four sons—Constantin, Stephen, Radu, and Matthew—were arrested by the Ottomans. Offered the chance to save their lives by converting to Islam, they refused. On August 15, the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos, they were beheaded in Constantinople. Constantin, the father, encouraged his sons to remain steadfast in their Christian faith until their last breath. Their courage and sacrifice in the face of religious persecution have made them symbols of Christian resistance and devotion.

Let us pray to the #MartyrsBrâncoveni, that their sacrifice inspires us to uphold our #faith against all adversities, and that they intercede for the strengthening of #OrthodoxChristians worldwide. May their memory be eternal! #Saints #ChristianFaith
