Emilian, a brave soul from Durostorum, lived during Emperor Julian the Apostate's reign. Witnessing pagans persecuting Christians, Emilian shattered their idols in defiance. Arrested and tortured, he refused to denounce Christ. They sentenced him to be burned, but the flames wouldn't touch him! Finally, as he breathed his last, an earthquake shook the city.
