In 1475, #StephenTheGreat faced the Ottoman Empire at Vaslui. Vastly outnumbered, Stephen prayed fervently. Before the battle, he had his army dig deep pits and conceal them with branches. When the Ottomans charged, many fell into the traps, disrupting their lines. Stephen's smaller but disciplined force then launched a fierce counterattack, routing the Ottomans in a stunning victory.
