In the 3rd century, during Emperor Diocletian's persecution, Saint Donat, a Roman soldier, and Venust, a Christian, were arrested in Rome. They were tortured for their faith, but remained steadfast. Refusing to renounce Christ, they were sentenced to death. They were thrown to wild beasts in the amphitheater, yet the animals did not harm them. Ultimately, they were beheaded, receiving their crowns of martyrdom. Saint Donat and Venust, pray for us to remain strong in our faith! #OrthodoxSaints #Martyrdom #RomanSaints #Faithful #Prayer
