In Wallachia, young John refused to convert to Islam, despite the Ottoman Turks' offers of wealth and honor. Enraged by his steadfast faith, they subjected him to brutal tortures, attempting to break his spirit and force his conversion. John endured each torment with unwavering resolve, strengthened by his love for Christ. Finally, he was beheaded for his faith in 1662.
