During the reign of Emperor Maximian, Saint Lup, a Roman soldier and friend of Saint Demetrius, fearlessly confessed his Christian faith. After witnessing Saint Demetrius's martyrdom in Thessaloniki, Lup continued to denounce the pagan idols and bravely opposed the persecutors. He was eventually arrested, tortured, and beheaded for his unwavering devotion to Christ. The faithful believe he received the crown of martyrdom, joining the ranks of God's saints.
